Notice of Vacancy

Apple Valley Heights County Water District is seeking applicants for a temporary appointment to the Water Agency Board of Directors.

THE APPLICATION PERIOD IS NOW OPEN.

Notice is hereby given that a vacancy will exist for a seat on the Board of Directors of Apple Valley Heights County Water District, effective May 13, 2024.

Apple Valley Heights County Water District seeks applicants for a temporary appointment to the Board of Directors. The appointment fills former Director Larry Hunter’s seat, left vacant when he resigned on May 13, 2024. The appointee would serve the remainder of Hunter’s term, which expires on November 3, 2026.

Who May Apply: Applicants must be 18 or older and reside within the water service area of Apple Valley Heights County Water District. Applicants must also be qualified to vote.

Application Period: Monday, May 20, 2024 – July 12, 2024. All applications must be submitted to the district office of Apple Valley Heights County Water District by July 12, 2024.

The remaining members of the Board of Directors will fill the vacancy by appointment, by the California Government Code Section 1780 at a meeting of the Board of Directors at its July 17, 2024, Public Hearing Meeting at the district office, 9429 Cerra Vista Street, Apple Valley, Ca 92308. Apple Valley Heights County Water District may choose to interview selected applicants before appointment. Meetings for interviews, review, and appointment are scheduled for July 13th and July 14th (if needed).
