The boil water notice that was issued for the Apple Valley Heights County Water District on August 13, 2024, was lifted today August 20th following the results of water tests that concluded no contamination was present.
It is no longer necessary for customers to boil their tap water for consumption or to use bottled water.
The boil water notice was issued as a precaution following a loss of water pressure due to a water main leak on Mesa Vista Street. Staff collected water samples, and our water lab conducted water quality tests to determine if any contamination occurred. Following the testing and monitoring, no contamination was found.
The District, in conjunction with the State Water Resources Control Board determined that, through abatement of the health hazard and comprehensive testing of the water, the water is safe to drink.
The District conducts regular water sampling and quality testing throughout the distribution system to ensure the water that is delivered to homes is safe.
