Apple Valley Heights County Water District notified their Water Resource Control Engineer at the State Water Resources Control Board Division of Drinking Water of a planned water main repair for Friday, February 2, 2024. Notices were being hand-delivered 48 hours in advance to the twelve (12) affected customers. The water districts had to completely shut-off the water for roughly four (4) hours to remove and replace a rubber gasket on a mechanical Joint restraint (MJ) that connects the water main to an isolation valve. A section of the water main was also replaced. The water main was flushed for 30 minutes, and a BAC-T water sample was taken to the lab for analysis. The following day, on Saturday, February 3, 2024, the water lab called to report that the water sample was absent for contamination.
